While the weather outside looked more like a dreary Autumn morning, the temperature was hotting up inside the Lilleshall National Sports Centre on Sunday.

The next event in our 12 months of charity was a 12 hour squashathon – a team of dedicated novices were joined by professional club players as well as former England international and 10 x Shropshire County Champion, Courtney Downing.

Courtney was joined by experienced local player Barry Talbot and the pair put on a frenetic display of precision shots and unrelenting pace as they showed everyone how the game is played.

Pensionlite staff turned out and proved they too were able to hit a few spectacular shots, producing some competitive rallys along the way.

“It was a great day and the team here at Pensionlite are very grateful to everyone who came and supported us as well as donating to the 12 months of charity cause,” said marketing manager James Tomlinson.

“We were able to raise over £200 which is fantastic and it all goes towards the final total which is growing each month.”

A big thanks also goes to the team at Lilleshall who not only provided the court but also a selection of brand new racquets and balls.
