This month’s challenge has been about moving, whether that is walking, running, swimming or cycling, anything which gets the heart rate up.
At the start of the month the team at Pensionlite set a target of 874 miles, the equivalent distance from Land’s End to John O’Groats.
So far we have racked up 823 miles and we will look to surpass that target in the coming weeks – hopefully hitting 1,000 miles by the end of the month.
This Sunday one of our pensions specialists, Alex Milligan, will be running from the New Bucks Head Stadium in Telford, to Shrewsbury Town’s Montgomery Waters Meadow and back.
Alex has been training hard and is hoping to complete the 23 mile distance in under four hours.
“I’ve clocked up a few miles over the last couple of months so feel ready for the challenge, I just hope the weather is kind to me on the day,” said Alex.
At the same time he leaves Telford, another group of advisers will be walking from Montgomery Waters Meadow up to the New Bucks Head – but who will complete their distance first?
Compliance consultant Phil Spare said: “I walk quite a lot so the distance shouldn’t be a problem, the terrain will be flat as well so no major hills.”
So if you see a group of walkers or a lone runner on the way to either stadium be sure to give them a shout of support.
If you would like to sponsor Alex and the team you can do so at our Virgin Giving page – all proceeds will be supporting our five chosen charities, Lingen Davies, Hope House, Severn Hospice, Compton Care and Jayne Sargent Foundation.
