On Sunday a group of our pensions specialists took to the Shropshire roads to race between the New Bucks Head in Telford and Montgomery Waters Meadow, home of Shrewsbury Town.

Adviser Alex Milligan ran the 22 mile round trip, starting and finishing in Telford, while Phil Spare and Andy Kainth walked 11 miles from Shrewsbury to Telford.

Alex completed the run in 3 hours 30 minutes and did fantastically well on a perfect day for running – he even battled a sore calf which caused some discomfort, but pushed through the pain barrier.

Phil completed the walk in 2 hours 30 minutes, while Andy came in at 3 hours 10 minutes. It was a brilliant effort from the trio and it has helped to raise the awareness of our charity cause and selected charity organisations.

An extra shout out to another Pensionlite adviser Louise, who took to her bike to make sure the boys were doing OK throughout the morning.

Louise used the day as training for her cycle ride across Britain in May as part of the Pensionlite cycling team.

All the miles walked and run from the weekend will go towards our monthly moving total for March, where we had originally set a target of 874 miles which is the distance between Land’s End to John o’ Groats, this has now been smashed – 1,068.73 miles so far!

If you would like to support us, donate or take part in any future events then we would love to hear from you, email us at support@pensionlite.co.uk or connect with us through Facebook and Twitter.

This year we are raising money for five local charities; including Hope House, Severn Hospice, Compton Care, Lingen Davies and Jayne Sargent Foundation.
