The views from the top of The Wrekin are some of the best in Shropshire, especially on a clear day, when you can see for miles.

That is why we thought it would make the perfect location for our next 12 months of charity challenge.

Towards the end of last year, we bid on one of the nine-foot ducks that were on display around Ironbridge and Southwater last summer.

It was a fitting tribute to former company founder Andy Hawthorne and the birth of our 12 months of charity cause.

The duck, named ‘C-Ellie-Brate’, was created by Ellie Perks of Abraham Darby Academy. The goal at the end of the month will be to carry our feathered friend up to the top of The Wrekin.

We are having a special custom frame made that will allow up to four people to carry her safely. It will be an incredible sight to see one of these stunning artistic creations looking out across the Shropshire countryside.

If you would like to take part in the event and join us for a walk up The Wrekin, then please get in touch with us at or follow our Facebook page and leave a comment.

All through 2019 we have been raising money and supporting five local charities; Hope HouseLingen DaviesSevern HospiceCompton Care and Jayne Sargent Foundation.
