Next week we take on the first of our 12 challenges for 2019 – a 24 hour indoor row.
This is being held at the Pensionlite office on January 17th from 5pm, and will finish the following day at the same time.
As well as Pensionlite staff, we’ve also had a number of dedicated volunteers put themselves forward to row one of the 72, 20 minute slots.
It’s going to be a big task, as most of us will have been at work the day of the row – but if it wasn’t difficult then it wouldn’t be a challenge.
While we don’t have a distance target set, we will be looking to row as many metres as possible in 24 hours.
As an idea of what can be achieved during this time, in April 8, 2016 a group of nine male rowers from Bagsvaerd Rowing Club, Bagsvaerd, Denmark rowed 436,810 metres over 24 hours.
With more rowers on our team, could we set our own world record? You’ll have to wait and see.
If you would like to get involved, we are still looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help us, so make sure you get in touch.
We will be raising money for five amazing local charities – Hope House, Severn Hospice, Lingen Davies, Jayne Sargent Foundation and Compton Care You can make a donation on our Virgin Money Giving page.
