So, after 24-hours of continuous rowing the team at Pensionlite and our dedicated volunteers have completed the first challenge for 2019.

Rowing any distance is a feat in itself and in total we managed to over 301,887 metres, with each person rowing a 20 minute slot.

The distance is the equivalent of rowing the English Channel five times, minus the bad weather and high seas of course.

It was a fantastic effort by everyone involved and there was even a little bit of competition between staff which helped push those final few metres out.

We will also announce the winner of the closest guess competition, – this was to see who could guess the total distance rowed in 24-hours.

The winner will receive a meal for two with bottle of wine at either The Loopy Shrew or Darwin’s Kitchen – it’s a fantastic prize.

Our next charity event will be the charity bake off to be held in February, more information can be found on our charity website.
