We’ve had our cake here at Pensionlite – and eaten it! Last Friday we held our charity bake off and were overwhelmed by the support we received.

People went above and beyond with their creations and there was some very impressive cakes on display. The afternoon raised over £300 which will all go to our 12 months of charity cause for 2019.

We had two categories on the day; one for adults and one for kids. The adults was hotly contested, but in the end it was Becky Woolley who won with her Caramac cheesecake. The runner-up in the adult category went to Mark from Compton Care, with a very elaborate fruit sponge cake.

The kids category had some fantastic entries, the deserving winner was Thomas Morgan whose rice krispie lollipops were an instant hit with the judges. Runner-up was Edward Lent and his rocky road slices, of which not many were left afterwards.

We wanted to thank everyone who took part and supported us, and also to Mary Berry and Paul Hollywood for taking time out of their busy schedules to come and judge.

You can check out some of the pictures from the afternoon below.
